Momentum is a suspense, thriller and action packed movie where a mysterious thief is called by her ex partner for one last operation. Soon Alex finds out that it was not about the diamonds.
A murder takes place and the chase between Alex and the master assassin begins. She then tries to find out the main reason behind the operation she was called in for. The movie is directed by Stephen Campanelli. The lead roles are played by Olga Kurylenko, James Purefoy and Morgan Freeman.
The movie seems to have tried the ingredients of Bourne, but failed to succeed. Olga Kurylenko puts on a good performance. Morgan Freeman only appeared for a short time in the film. However, his presence did add an extra flavor to the film. In fact, his presence as a senator is one of the best parts of the movie.
The movie is very fast, so you will not get bored. But the creative element is missing in the movie. The pieces of the movie are connected senselessly. So, many viewers might not make a thing out of it.
The main chase takes place in Cape Town with very high speed. The action scenes are overdone. The character Alex seems to be one directional; the actress having only one expression throughout the whole movie. Her action skills were like a mannequin. The character of a little 6 year boy put some heart to the movie.
The chemistry between Kurylenko and Purefoy seemed well. The dialogues, though, couldn’t gain much attention. The final scene of the movie is very arrogant and odd.
It is finished in such a way that it seems there will be another sequel of the movie; but most probably not. The movie didn’t do much well in the box office and the ratings are also not very well.
